14:20 York Main Desire made a pleasing start to her career when easily winning on debut at Nottingham and looks sure to be popular in the betting here on the back of that. From a good family and from the yard responsible for taking the 2008 renewal of this she looks a promising type on paper and needs respecting. Formidable Kitt showed a good attitude when making all on her debut at Newmarket, she promises to improve for that experience but a chance will be taken on Main Desire finding the sufficient improvement. MAIN DESIRE (WIN)
14:55 York On Her Toes probably lacks the scope of a few of these and is arguably the most exposed, already a three time winner she likely has the best form though perhaps more importantly she has already shown she handles rain softened ground. Princess De Lune was impressive when hammering her rivals at Newbury, she makes plenty of appeal if handling the ground but her yard have had a few costly losers of late. Dancing Breeze is another who appeals but with Moore booked and with no going concerns, On Her Toes may know too much. ON HER TOES (WIN)
15:30 York Last seasons St Leger fourth Muntahaa disappointed on his comeback at Doncaster but proved that to be all wrong when bravely getting up at Newbury the time after, from a yard amongst the winners he ought to play a part today though the ground has to be a concern. Dartmouth represents the Queen and has run well on similar ground before, a winner at the trip and having run well after breaks before he looks the likely favourite and is respected as such. Simple Verse and last seasons winner Clever Cookie have chances if fully revved up but Dartmouth is the form choice and he is taken to give Stoute his fourth winner of this in the last ten years. DARTMOUTH (WIN)
16:05 York Gibbs Hill has yet to finish out of the first three in any of his five races to date and he showed a nice turn of foot when easily winning at Wolverhampton on his seasonal return. Having only ever raced on turf with ease in the ground he appears to have plenty going for him today and his trainer has been firing the winners in of late. Fidaawy was allowed an easy lead when winning for Crowley at Doncaster last time, proven on the ground he is massively respected although you do rather suspect he could set it up for a closer. GIBBS HILL (WIN) – NAP
