TV TIPS (FRIDAY)

‪14:00 Lingfield ‬ Watersmeet has thrived during the winter months and landed his third race in succession when winning readily at Kempton last time, a prior winner here it is difficult to see him out of the frame today and respect must be afforded. French raider, Funny Kid, has a neck to find with Watersmeet on their running at Wolverhampton earlier in the year, that was a very good effort however and his chance has to be respected despite the marks suggesting he is held by the favourite. Red Verdon is progressive and would be a huge danger if getting this far, this is however a good deal further than he has ever gone and on that he is opposed. Mountain Bell could be the dark horse and she seemed to relish the two mile trip when winning a minor event at Newcastle last time, she must improve significantly to land this but she looks like getting a good pace to aim at and at the current prices she makes appeal as an each way bet to nothing. ‪Mountain Bell (E/W)‬

‪14:30 Lingfield ‬ Diagnostic has proven a little disappointing this season and has been turned over at short odds on both attempts, whether unsuited by the small fields or lack of pace she arrives here with question marks to answer. Zest looks better over further though if they went quick she will likely be staying on strongly at the end, closely matched with the re-opposing Summer Icon it would be folly to dismiss either out of hand. Carolinae and Soul Silver have claims if getting the run of the race but a final chance is handed to the William Haggas trained Diagnostic who surely has more to offer. ‪Diagnostic (WIN)‬

‪14:45 Newcastle‬ Tadaawol looked set to run a decent race when sent to Doncaster at the weekend having shown plenty when fourth here the time before, quite why he managed to misfire so badly is a mystery, a better run ought to be expected here but he has something to prove. Welliesinthewater needs close consideration in this off a good looking mark, his third at Wolverhampton last time was a serious step in the right direction and he is a multiple winner. Chaplin Bay landed this last season but has been out of sorts ever since, he wouldnt want entirely dismissing but you would want to see strong market confidence. Outside Inside ran a lot better than her finsihing position might suggest at Curragh the last day, lightly raced and open to imrovement it has to be seen as a positive that Mark Johnstone now has her. Firmdecisions is frustrating yet fairly consistent, he looks certain to run his race but a chance will be taken on Welliesinthewater building on last months near miss. ‪Welliesinthewater (WIN)  ‬

‪15:05 Lingfield ‬ Kachy seemed to rather lose his way on the turf though he has looked right back to his best since this term on the all weather and all things look set for a big run today. Often on or around the pace his win here last time was impressive given he was poorly drawn and the way he battled on to hold off the fast finish of Kimberella was impressive, drawn better today and without Caspian Prince to battle with early doors you have to feel this is a very good chance for him to land the hat-trick and he is taken to do just that. Kimberella and Intisaab will need the gaps to appear but the pair look likely to run big races, that being said course and distance winner Gifted Master looks the most serious threat to Kachy, though hopefully the pair don’t go too hard up front. ‪Kachy (WIN) – NAP‬

‪15:20 Newcastle‬ Amazing Red hasnt always convinced when push comes to shove but with the size of field likely tom suit and the track another expected bonus, he is taken to run enough of them down late in the day and grab a place. Cosmeapolitan won with more ease than the official margin would suggest least time and is another to consider, often a smooth traveller he looks another player if getting the gaps. Shabeeb looks the dark horse on his all weather debut and he could take some beating if handling the surface, certainly from a turf form point of view he must be high on the list. Lexington Law, Island Brave and Stargazer are others to consider in an open looking contest. ‪Amazing Red (E/W) ‬

‪15:40 Lingfield ‬ Picking the winner of this looks a thankless task as six of the ten set to run are last time out winners, Rock On Baileys landed the five timer when winning at Wolverhampton last time and just keeps on improving, as easy looking ride she must show even more to land this but she is sure to be popular given her profile and is worth considering. Corinthia Knight won a Listed race in France last time and had won her previous two in good fashion, she trades as the clear market leader and is respected even though there is a suspicion that she has been well placed. Breathless Time has looked good in winning twice at Wolverhampton and looks the one likely to prove the best of these over time, her draw makes this complicated however and as such she is taken on. Never Back Down hardly looked like winning last time though she knuckled down nicely to win a shade cosily at the end, given she looks solid at this level a chance will be taken on her following up though you could hardly be confident. ‪Never Back Down (WIN)‬

‪15:55 Newcastle ‬ Nyaleti took on some of the best of her gender last term and is interesting for Mark Johnston in her three year old campaing, a willing type when allowed her own way it will be interesting to see if she gets left alone up front. Purser was entitled to win the Lingfield race he won last term though he also ran with credit in much better company on the turf, from the Gosden yard he makes more appeal than Nyaleti though he could need this. Gronkowski retained his unbeaten all weather record when somehow getting up at Kempton last time and is just the type his trainer excels with, Spencer will have to have his wits about him today but he is very difficult to get away from here. ‪Gronkowski (WIN) ‬

‪16:10 Lingfield ‬ Second Thought has yet to taste defeat on the all weather and he warmed up for this with a taking win at Wolverhampton last time, often held up to deliver a late challenge the biggest concern with him is luck in the run. Arcanada is another who thrives on the all weather and his uncomplicated style of running could be a major positive today, his form reads well in the nature of this and he deserves a tremendous amount of respect from his draw. Goring and Chevallier are a couple of longer priced runners with a fair shout of hitting the frame though Second Thought looks the one to beat. ‪Second Thought (WIN)‬

‪16:40 Lingfield ‬ A few of these met here in the Winter Derby here last month with Mr Owen being first past the post, ultimately after a stewards enquiry Master Of The World was awarded the race and it is hard to argue against that given Mr Owen caused clear interference. Splitting the two market leaders today looks rough as Master Of The World often finds trouble in running whilst Mr Owen surely has more improvement, whatever the pair are heavily respected and look likely to give it a good go. Battle Of Marathon often goes well in big races and he finished third in the trial for the Winter Derby as well as the big race itself, often a forgotten horse he deserves plenty of respect and given he is a double figure price, he is handed a speculative vote to place once more. Victory Bond and Utmost deserve mentions of the rest in what looks a cracking race. ‪Battle Of Marathon (E/W)‬
