Snookered is the highest rated in this race by a good 11 lbs but he hasn’t been in the same vein of form since his second at Sedgefield in September. He has top weight today, which might not help his chances. He’s won at Leicester before and the drop down in class will suit him. However, this seems like quite a taxing ask.
Weebill missed the last two years and took a bit of time to find his hooves again but he scored here in December by a large margin. He’s wearing cheekpieces for the first time today and Katie O’Farrell keeps the ride on him. Additionally, she lowers his weight by an extra 5 lbs. He’s open to run well again but the major concern is that he’s dropping down to a distance that he hasn’t raced over for just over four years.
Ar Mest probably needed the run on his first start for Harriet Brown and he’s got a decent weight. He’s won over course and distance and should be fine with this class. Moreover, he’s fitted with cheekpieces for the second time, after winning on his sole attempt at wearing them. Tom Scudamore, who is in quite good form, has been booked for the ride, which is eyecatching. He’s a large price considering all his positives.

Queen’s Fair improved on both her starts , the first over course and distance, placing both times. She was unlucky at Wolverhampton, when she was beaten by half a length after rearing up in the stalls. However, a mile might not be her optimum trip. Her siblings have won over seven furlongs, the distance of her Wolverhampton second, over a mile and a couple of furlongs. Today might not be her day.
Melodramatica won over seven furlongs, on the All-Weather, last year. It seems that the step up to a mile at Lingfield didn’t suit her. Connections are going well and she has a good draw. David Probert is operating at a very good strike rate. If Lingfield was an off-day, then she could be a danger over a mile, despite her penalty.
Magical Dias showed plenty of promise on her debut and was unlucky over seven furlongs the time after. She was outpaced over six furlongs at Lingfield but managed to salvage the run after staying on in the last furlong. Sean Levey and Richard Hannon are in good form and she will be better suited back over a mile. She’s the one to beat.
