Despite the fact Gustavian has clearly a few jumping issues, this looks a golden opportunity for him to get off the mark over the larger obstacles.
He has to concede weight to his rivals, but hopefully if he’s jumping comes together he should be too classy for this opposition, especially with conditions to suit.
Huntsmans Jog is a very consistent performer, but does struggle to get his head in front. Stamina is certainly this horses forte and his form in some competitive events lately makes him the danger to the selection.
Gosheven looks a progressive type until that run came to an abrupt end when pulling up over course and distance. He ran as if something was amiss that day, but if he’s recovered from that he could certainly be involved.

A dash up the straight five furlongs opens proceedings.
Bert Kibbler stands out here purely on the basis of his course and distance victory last time over a rival who has handsomely franked that form in no uncertain terms.
A rise of five pounds looks fairly lenient and a follow up victory is certainly on the cards.
Not Now Zeb is an interesting runner from a yard that does well here (particularly when it was fibresand). He seems to be running back into form and ran his best race for some time here last time out. There’s no doubt he’s well handicapped on his Irish form and he looks likely to chase home the selection.
Dream Game is another with an each way shout. She seems to struggle a little round the tight turns of Wolverhampton, but back on a straight track here will definitely aid her cause.
