TUESDAY RACING TIPS

16:15 Fakenham

The feature event on the card is the Norfolk National handicap chase over three mile five furlongs.

Top weight Red Happy has been in cracking form late. Winning three of his last four starts. He’s certainly still competitively handicapped, however this marathon trip is a huge question mark.

Potters Legend knows his way around here. He’s not getting any younger, but that makes him feasibly treated weights wise. He like the ground and the extreme distance should be in his favour.

It would have been more encouraging to see Game Line run a bit better last time, however he is a course and distance winner and if he can keep in touch, he couldn’t play a part in the finish.

Tommie Beau is the choice. He galloped a small field into submission at Plumpton last time, looking like a thorough stayer. He’s a dual course winner albeit over a slightly shorter trip. He’ll enjoy the ground and has some improvement in him over marathon distances.

A sixteen runner handicap looks a minefield at fast glance.

Aoifie’s Joy is very interesting from a shrewd yard. Not many miles on the clock for a five year old. She finished third on seasonal debut over an inadequate trip. She steps back up to a mile, in which she was successful at when winning off just a one pound lower mark at Haydock last season and looks sure to go close.

Frog And Toad is also an obvious contender. Three runs last month yielded a victory in between two seconds. Still well handicapped and unlikely to finish out of the frame.

The selection goes to Magic Mile. Mostly campaigned on the all weather, he adapted to turf really well when finishing third at Nottingham. Despite top weight and a high draw. It’s interesting the yard have made the long trek from Newmarket and that could be telling.
