TUESDAY RACING TIPS

16:45 Uttoxeter

A three mile handicap chase in which twelve runners go to post.

Quite a few of these are very consistent, but do find it hard to get their heads in front due to being in the handicappers grip.

Kilbrook would have a chance. He may not be entirely straightforward forward, but the good ground will suit. However this mark seems to be his ceiling.

Larkbarrow Lad might be an ideal selection for placepot punters. He has been beaten off a lower mark in his latest two starts and has nothing in hand.

One horse who might have a little something up his sleeve is Captain Biggles. Only a seven year old who has the opportunity to improve. The good ground and a breathing operation could prompt a bold show.

CAPTAIN BIGGLES (WIN)

20:30 Wolverhampton

An eight runner handicap over almost a mile and a quarter.

Homeric was a slightly fortunate winner last time after being awarded the race in the stewards room. He looks like one to take on here.

Swilcan Bridge was all out to win his maiden last time. There’s no doubt he’s open to some more improvement, but he’s overlooked on this occasion.

Top weight Killearn is the selection. He showed plenty off promise on his three starts as a two year old, and was sent of a short price favourite on his three year old debut. That race was over seven furlongs, and he was also taken down early. Connections were clearly expecting him to be a bit fresh and free. His pedigree suggests the step up in trip will suit, and hopefully the recent run will have taken some of the fizz out of him.
