TUESDAY RACING TIPS

15:01 Exeter

A proper NH steeplechase over three and three quarter miles. Should be far more staying races like these on the calendar.

Encounter A Giant is interesting. He’d had a spell on the sidelines and is working his way back to fitness. His latest run was encouraging and he should be near peaking. He’ll go well.

Canelo has some decent back form. If he can rediscover anything like that form, he’s absolutely thrown in here. But there’s certainly some guesswork involved.

Moroder is the selection. This eight year old certainly has a progressive profile and despite winning his last three, the handicapper hasn’t crucified him. He does have to prove himself over the longer trip, but he certainly wasn’t stopping when winning his last two races here over three miles.

Castle Robin is a seven year old on the upgrade. A comfortable winner last time beating a subsequent winner, he looks sure to be on the scene.

Fern Hill could potentially go off favourite here. However he does have to prove himself over the trip and was seriously disappointing last time.

Hopefully if the ground is decent Grand Mogul would be a decent value selection. This Presenting will be much happier on a sound surface. An eight year old with no miles on the clock has ventured up north from Seven Barrows. He looks the way to go here.
