Echo Watt has to have a decent chance here based on his third place over course and distance last time. He does stay and act on the ground, but consistency is an issue.
This probably represents a little drop in class for Premier D’troice. Some bits and pieces of his form gives him a chance in this, particularly as he’s six pounds below his last winning mark.
This is a race of ifs, buts and maybes. Therefore a chance is taken with the outsider of the entire field (at time of writing) Vinnie Dev. This horse is only eight years old, but has clearly had some issues. Go back far enough and you’ll see he chased home Shiskin in a point, then fell in a point when running well against Chantry House. He shapes like a stayer, has a very workable mark of 110 and in a race where you’d likely get a different winner if you ran it ten times, he’s a decent each way shout at a big price.

Green Vault is improving for a step up to staying trips. He won two handicaps off the same mark, however the handicapper has had his say here and in a deeper race it may be enough to halt his progress.
The Delray Munky shouldn’t be overlooked. She looked like she might be coming into a bit of form last time. She has a good record here and on the ground, and has also received some respite from the handicapper.
A chance is taken with Ned Tanner to follow up his recent Kelso victory. He was quite impressive in beating an odds on shot that he’d finished behind in a earlier race in his career. He could win a couple more before he reaches his limit over hurdles.
