Dubawi Legend was rather impressive on debut when hosingup by five lengths and seems to be favoured to take the spoils again. Although he was visually impressive, the form hasn’t exactly been franked since and this looks a hard challenge for a relatively unexposed colt on what is only his second day at school.
Ehraz was no match for Nobel Truth on his debut but subsequently took a major step up at Ascot, when breaking his duck by four and a half lengths. Both of his runs have been on Good-to-Firm ground, which is slightly faster than the ground today but shouldn’t pose a major problem. If he can repeat his Ascot performance, he should be bang in the mix but he will have to overcome the selection to do so.
Nobel Truth was third on debut in a very competitive Newmarket maiden, won by subsequent Group Two scorer Lusail. He didn’t get the best of starts in that race and ran rather green in the first stages of the race, which suggests he could have gone closer than he did. He followed that up by easily defeating Ehraz also at Newmarket. Everything seems to be in his favour today and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him justify his hefty price tag!
