Anythingtoday hasn't won for a while but wasn't disgraced despite posting a ninth place finish in a Class 2 contest last time out, finishing less than four lengths off the winner. That race has produced five subsequent winners and if you look back through older form he has won on soft and good-to-soft ground and won a Class 3 race over course and distance off a mark of 94 in 2019 so looks potentially well treated back in a Class 4 off 86 today. His overall win profile isn't great but he has showed enough in his last couple of runs that he is capable of getting competitive in a race of this nature so gets the vote over the short-priced favourite.
Cormier has split his time between the flat and hurdles since joining Brian Ellison, posting results of 12121 when racing on turf. Both trip and conditions will suit but this is another step up in Class and on balance I see no value at the current price.
Bollin Joan was a course and distance winner under Ella McCain last month and although disappointed at Carlisle two weeks later she then gained another victory over a shorter trip at Ripon earlier this week. She is used to the quick turnaround between races and has a good record over this longer trip so would need to be considered despite a career high mark and this looking a deeper race than that prior course and distance victory.
A final mention goes to Noble Masquerade who put in his best turf performance when second on soft ground at Sandown in May and has since followed up with a victory on the All-Weather. Both those runs came over shorter trips but he has raced over this trip before and arguably brings the best form in to the race so also warrants respect.
