THURSDAY RACING TIPS

13:00 Ludlow

Angels Landing hasn’t managed a victory since tackling hurdles but has made the frame in her last three and her record over course and distance reads 322. She has been competing in higher grades than she encounters here and has conditions to suit so should be capable of finally getting her head in front.

Good Impression arrives here on a hat-trick following victories at Fakenham and Uttoxeter in January, beating Moveit Like Minne with apparent ease in the latter race, however has a 7lbs hike in the weights to contend with so could prove vulnerable for win purposes, while Poker Master also carries a 7lbs penalty however was 4lbs ‘wrong’ at the weights last time out and beat a ¼ favourite in convincing fashion so on paper looks to hold a great chance of following up, however that victory came in soft to heavy ground and prior runs in better ground have not been so convincing.

ANGELS LANDING (WIN)

15:00 Ludlow

Trainer Henry Daly has a 36% winning strike rate in the last three years with his chasers at the course and runs Head To The Stars who has been instrumental in helping achieve that stat having won this race for the last two years and also posting a course and distance victory on penultimate run in December. He failed to land a blow in a Grade 3 race at Warwick last time out but the return to a venue and a race that he knows and loves, and with both trainer and jockey continuing in great recent form, he looks the one to beat.

Java Point also brings winning course form to the table and gets weight from all rivals so looks to be the biggest danger to our selection, although it’s worth noting he’s never raced over this far under rules.

No Getaway also has to prove his stamina over this trip, while Golden Whiskey would perhaps prefer more cut in the ground and Canelo has disappointed in all four runs so far this season.
