5 go in this small but select field. for the 2nd race of the day at Newmarket. Stowell currently market favourite was a little unlucky finishing strong last time out at 1m 6f at Royal ascot last time out so if Frankie can manage to get Stowell in a better position nearer the business end of the race will surely be in contention.

Yibir has been gelded since his last race so will be interesting to see if that brings out improvement in him and shouldn't be ignored. Has ran in competitive races this season and is interesting trying this sort of trip for the first time. (Trainer and Jockey have a 36% strike rate when teaming up at Newmarket)

Mark Johnston has 2 in this race with Gear Up who is trying this trip for the first time and Dancing King who has won a lot of handicap races will have to be at his best to win this.

My selection would be Mandoob. having won his last 2 starts looks the type to be quite a staying prospect and this extra trip will suit him I believe. Don't get me wrong he will have to improve a lot from what he has shown in his 2 winning races. Will enjoy the fast ground and I just think at a more attractive price of 6/1 at the time of writing is the better price compared to the front 2 at the market.
