14:10 Ayr The prolific Gworn returns to his beloved Ayr where he has already visited the winner’s enclosure three times this season alone. The horse hasn’t been out of the top two places in his last four starts, but has now reached his highest ever winning mark so has little margin for error today. The value pick instead looks to be Komodo from the in-form Jedd O’Keefe yard. The talented 3yo is yet to run a bad race in four starts and followed up his maiden win with an impressive run in behind Hellovaplan on his handicap debut last time out. He now takes on his elders for the first time, but is totally unexposed and looks poised for a big run with conditions ideal. Iain Jardine’s Hibou was brave when clinging on to score at Hamilton last time out over a mile and he rates the main danger now stepping back up in trip today. KOMODO (E/W)
16:55 Ayr Keith Dalgleish’s stable is in fine form at the moment and his five-year-old gelding Dark Profit looks to have a great chance of enhancing their recent run here today. The horse is a prolific winner at both 5f and 7f and also has a solid record in these conditions. There was a lot to like about the manner of his victory last time out over course and distance. The decisive 2 & 1/4 length margin would suggest he will take this 7lb rise in his stride today with conditions in his favour again, so he gets the confident nod to follow up here today. David O’Meara’s Major Crispies rates as the main danger after hinting at a revival last time out with a decent third in a similar race last time out at Thirsk and repeat of that would see him take a hand again here. DARK PROFIT (WIN) – NAP
