SUNDAY WEEKENDER

15:00 Pontefract Most of these are fairly exposed, most of these are also disappointing types so a chance will be taken on Correggio who landed this race back in 2015, off a 13lbs higher mark. Unconvincing so far this season you couldn’t describe him as a good thing to bounce back but the ground will pose no problem and the fact connections have persisted with him offers hope, whatever the angle he is likely to offer value off an appealing mark. Maraakib would have hammered these in his day and is another who wont be inconvenienced on the ground, should the market speak in his favour he would need a lot of respect. CORREGGIO (E/W)

16:00 Pontefract Avon Breeze likes it here and has been in sparkling form of late, currently in foal it is arguable how much longer we will see her for but as a dual winner at the course this month, she is taken to wear them all down late on. Gin In The Inn is very smart on his day and his win here in May gives him every chance, the worry today has to be the slower ground however and as such he’s passed over. Highland Acclaim and Art Obsession warrant serious respect but Avon Breeze can strike again. AVON BREEZE (WIN) – NAP
