SUNDAY WEEKENDER

14:40 Kempton Bach De Clermont was a fairly expensive purchase from the point to point ranks and makes his chasing debut under rules for an in form yard today. Already a winner over timber he managed to run the useful Banditry to a couple of lengths at Southwell last time, given normal improvement and bearing in mind he’s bred for chasing, all things point to a good run. Movie Legend won at Market Rasen last time and is a threat on that score, his 5lbs penalty makes this a little tougher but experience often pays at this time of year. Bad Boy Du Polder, Siruh Du Lac and Volt Face make some appeal of the rest but Bach De Clermont gets the verdict. Bach De Clermont (WIN) – NAP

16:40 Southwell This looks tricky as quite a few of these excel around here, perhaps none more so than Piazon, who looks almost certain to go off favourite having never been outside the top two. Despite now being six it is unlikely connections have bottomed him out as yet and with a capable seven pounds claimer on top today, his chance must be strong. Treaty Of Rome has recorded all three of his wins here and is pretty consistent, well drawn and likely to get a strong pace to aim at, he is handed a speculative each way selection should the price allow. Top weight Musharrif is no forlorn hope on recent evidence and Lucky Beggar makes some appeal given the opposition he faces today, the rest winning would be something of an upset.
