SUNDAY WEEKENDER

13:20 SANDOWN

Jameson put in a solid round of jumping when a decent second in heavy ground on chase debut last month, finishing ten lengths ahead of a 144 rated Paul Nicholls runner. He had previously won on good and good-to-soft ground over hurdles and in bumpers so should appreciate the better forecast conditions here and races for the in-form Nigel Twiston-Davies.

Gary Moore always does well with his runners over fences at Sandown so Crystal Lad could be worthy of an each way play at bigger odds. He disappointed on chase debut but should be capable of better with that experience under his belt.

Touch Kick, Baden and Chalonnial all represent big stables with experienced jockeys booked and all have the quality to get involved. Of the three, the biggest danger looks to be Chalonnial who steps up in trip for chase debut but has a good record when fresh.

JAMESON (WIN)

14:55 SANDOWN - (BET OF THE DAY)

Both Nicky Henderson and Nico De Boinville have been in excellent recent form and team up with Wenyerreadyfreddie who followed up a solid second to Brio Conte with a convincing four length victory over three subsequent winners when last seen. Trip and conditions should suit and a big run is expected.

The biggest danger looks to be Sword Of Fate who brings solid form in to the race having won his last two and arrives here for a trainer in good recent form, although it is also worth noting Garo De Juilley who was touted as a possible festival horse when joining Paul Nicholls last year. He could only manage one victory at odds of 1/6 in his first season but returned last month, putting in a better performance when losing by just less than a length and could be capable of better still.
