Robintheaulad won over track and trip in a bumper in 2016 but is yet to win over hurdles and is yet to complete over the larger obstacles. The return to hurdles looks to be the right call and now returning to a shorter trip on the back of a recent wind op there could be more to come from the seven-year-old.
Dark And Dangerous has done all of his recent winning at Sedgefield but has a good record over this trip and in soft ground. A couple of decent efforts in defeat in recent runs suggests a race of this nature would not be out of reach.
Instingtive twice beat an in-form PC Dixon in heavy ground before finding nineteen furlongs too far last time out. With more rain forecast and the step back in trip playing to his strengths he looks to have a good chance of returning to winning ways here.
Grove Silver is two from two over course and distance and has three wins from four overall at the course. He has been upped 5lbs for victory last time out but is still 2lbs below best winning mark over fences and has done all his winning in soft or heavy ground so with more rain forecast should get optimum conditions to provide another winner for the in-form Jenny Candlish stable.
Doktor Glaz rates as the biggest danger having improved for a step down in trip when winning at Doncaster last time out, although Swing Hard has a good record over course and distance and despite disappointing in his last two runs has dropped another 3lbs so could make his presence felt now below his best winning mark.
