SUNDAY WEEKENDER

16:10 Ludlow

Ludlow stage their Ladies day on their only weekend day of racing, and it is here where we find our NAP of the day. Nick Williams won this race last season and sends three-time course and distance winner Peruvien Bleu in an attempt to win it again. He is ridden by Chester Williams who has made the frame in 70% of all races at the course and rode the winner for his father last season.

Cockney Wren returned from wind surgery with an improved performance at Taunton last time out, winning by over two lengths and beating a subsequent winner in the process. He makes his handicap debut today and looks to be the main danger.

Tom Lacey has only had a couple of runners in May but was in fine form in April and his runner Flashing Glance won over track and trip on penultimate run so he’s an interesting runner here, although would perhaps prefer a slightly softer surface. A mention also goes to Leoncavallo on first run for Dr R Newland and drops back to a trip that he has had multiple successes over in previous seasons. He struggled last season but a change of trainer and return to this trip could spark improvement.
