Archie Watson has been in fine form in recent weeks and his runner Rockin Roy arrives here having won two of his last three, one of which came over course and distance. A solid third last time out, he won’t go down without a fight but has to give a fair bit of weight away to all rivals today so looks vulnerable for win purposes.

Preference is for bottom-weight Princess Power who has won her last three, beating recent York winner Ginger Nut last time out, and looks capable of further improvement. Already a winner over five and six furlongs, and having won on fast and good-to-soft ground, she will be happy on the forecast good-to-firm ground but will also be at home if the rain arrives and so is our best bet of the day.
