SUNDAY WEEKENDER

15:45 Ffos Las

Nick Wiliams has made the frame with six from seven over fences in the last three years at the course and jockey Harry Cobden arrives here in good form having bagged a couple of winners at Aintree this week. They team up with Horatio Hornblower who has previously won and placed over course and distance and shouldn’t be inconvenienced by conditions having won in soft and heavy ground. Placed in his last two starts and having won in this grade off a mark of 127 in the past, he should be capable of a big run here off a mark of 121.

At thirteen years of age Alfie Spinner isn’t getting any younger but was a decent second in the Welsh National and wasn’t disgraced when fifth in the Midlands National last time out. Another with course and distance form who won’t mind conditions, he looks a danger.
