Pour La Victoire is a real course specialist, posting four wins and a second from six runs over a six-furlong trip. In fact, eight of his ten career turf wins have come here at Brighton so he is always worth a second glance when returning to the South coast. He has 3lbs more to carry following a decent victory last time out but retains the services of jockey Poppy Bridgewater in the saddle, who has done the steering for his last three victories, so should be capable of another big run and hopefully another victory here today.

King Crimson comes with risks attached having only won over the minimum trip and having refused to race at Newmarket last time out but has won three from four at the course so cannot be completely discounted, although the bigger danger looks to Lightning Charlie who improved on prior runs to record a comfortable course and distance victory last month and although upped 4lbs has won off higher marks in the past.
