SUNDAY WEEKENDER

13:50 Cork

We start Sunday afternoon in the south of Ireland and Cork Racecourse. A maiden hurdle over two miles which has been won by some nice types in previous years.

Alpha Des Obeaux will likely start favourite for Gigginstown Stud and Bryan Cooper. He won a point to point on heavy ground easily and he should be a excellent horse in time but the trip will be a concern. His point to point was over three miles and running over the minimum trip he could struggle.

Walk to Freedom is the selection. Jessica Harrington’s horse was in front with half a furlong to go last week at Fairyhouse before running out. If that has no ill effect on jumping or confidence he must go close.

A couple of the newcomers are well bred on the chasing side and would be interesting with some market support.

Eshtiaal has to be respected given the good form of the stable but like a few of these is exposed.

Walk to Freedom, in my opinion has some progressive form and was unlucky last time.

Walk To Freedom (E/W if 5/1+)

15:20 Kempton

We head to Kempton for a listed contest over two miles, John Ferguson won this race last year with Sea Lord and Barry Geraghty takes the ride on Parlour Games is taken to make it two from two.

Thrown in at the Galway festival in the big hurdle race he never had a chance but was progressive winning on the bridle at Market Rasen prior to going to Galway. Ground will suit and he should be very hard to beat.

Blue Heron will need to make a stiff test to make use of stamina. Sureness and Chase The Wind form doesn’t look the strongest.

Parlour Games should prove to be the best of these at this trip and has ideal conditions today.

Parlour Games (WIN)

17:30 Kempton

Final race of the day and a Nicky Henderson, Barry Geraghty combination is the selection in the form of My Wigwam or Yours. He will start favourite and in the races he has finished he has been in the top four on every occasion and would’ve at least placed on the one occasion he fell.

The Beneficial gelding won a Newbury novices over todays trip last March easily and the second came out to win a novices event next time out just as easily. Since he competed in a race at Cheltenham in April won by the equally good Garde Le Victoire He should be good enough to take this with a penalty.

Off the remainder the one that could be winning later on in the year would be Tea For Two who won two bumpers and placed in another two. He may just need the experience.
