CARLISLE 13:30 – (BET OF THE DAY)
Just Minded makes plenty of appeal on his chase debut and brings some failry useful form from the hurdling division, bred to make it as a chaser and with almost no miles on the clock he has the look of a type to keep onside. Hargam is a shadow of his former self yet if it ever clicked for him again these would be blown away, now in the care of John Quinn it will be interesting to see what the market makes of him. Mister Whitaker has yet to taste victory though he has shown ability and ran well enough last time when making his debut over fences, that experience is unlikely to be lost on him and his mark looks very fair. Secrete Steam and Solstice Star could play parts and deserve a mention but Just Minded get the nod.

Westend Story finished fifth in the 2016 Champion Bumper and looked set for a fruitful campaign in the novice hurdling ranks last season, for whatever reason however it just hasnt clicked and he was beaten at short odds on all three starts to date. From the yard of Philip Hobbs it would be foolish to think he wont get the hang of this game but his record is off putting and there are a couple of proven sorts he must overcome today. One For Harry landed this race on his seasonal comeback in both 2014 and 2015, coming from a yard amongst the winners he looks a safe option each way and could pick up the pieces if the favourite misfires once more. Shantou Bob and Tomngerry are others whom could profit from any faltering of the market leader but at the odds, One For Harry looks like a bet to nothing.
