SUNDAY WEEKENDER

13:45 LINGFIELD

With four winners from fourteen in 2017 for Charlie Appleby, his runners are always worthy of a second glance at Lingfield. He runs Mystique Moon here, who won his first two before a solid second to a subsequent Listed winner (four lengths clear of third). With just the three runs under his belt he is capable of further improvement and should be able to take this on the way to bigger things.

The main danger looks to be Cliffs Of Capri who steps up to a mile following two wins and two seconds from four runs over seven furlongs, while Goring and Mutawathea both have decent records at the course and are respected accordingly.

MYSTIQUE MOON (WIN)

14:50 LINGFIELD

A total of nine runners are set to enter the stalls for this six furlong sprint. Jamie Osbourne’s Haraz has been mightily consistent but has struggled to get his head in front. The proverbial bridesmaid who, despite being favourite, looks set for a minor role again.

Course and distance winners Wild Flower and Billyoakes look to pose the biggest threat with both five year olds claiming recent victories. Wether or not the additional weight they’ll both now have to carry will impede their chances we can only guess but expect big runs from this duo.

The horse that gets the nod has yet to win in a ten race career but after tackling seven furlongs for the last couple of starts is good to see Forever Yours drop back down in trip. Trainer Dean Ivory has bagged a few winners recently and if that form can continue there’s no reason why this maiden can finally claim victory.
