Mercers Court brings the best form in to this race having won his last three and with both trainer and jockey in superb form it wouldn’t be too much of a surprise to see another big run ahead. That said, he has been given a further 8lbs rise for his latest victory and has an extra couple of furlongs to tackle today so the combination of the two could see his winning run come to an end.

With this in mind, there is a lot to like about the chances of Boric. He has posted a win and a second from two previous runs at Sedgefield, the latter of which came when a neck second over today’s trip off a mark of 123. He races today off 120, has winning form over similar distances and on good ground, and comes up against a field who all need to prove they have what it takes over a trip this far.
