SUNDAY WEEKENDER

13:00 Huntingdon

Mr Pumblechook started his hurdle career with a couple of promising placed efforts in races that have both produced subsequent winners, so it was no surprise to see him gain his first victory at the third time of asking when romping home by ten lengths at Plumpton in December. He found Listed company too hot to handle when last seen at Cheltenham but returns to calmer waters today with his stable in excellent form so i’m expecting further progress and a return to winning ways.

The biggest danger looks to be Hold The Note who is a similarly progressive-looking horse who built on a solid third on debut with victory at Doncaster when last seen. The is no doubt he will win more races this season but I feel he may have to settle for minor honours today, with Accordingtogino and Breaking Waves looking the most likely to fight it out for third.
