Neil Mulholland boasts a 36% winning strike rate over the last three years with his hurdlers here at Sedgefield and looks to have an excellent chance of adding to this with a victory for Very Extravangant. Well-treated on old form, he put in an improved run with a solid second at Market Rasen last month and should benefit from the extra distance he encounters here so gets the nod in what looks to be a winnable race.

Bearly Legal hasn’t won since January 2016 and has been pulled up in his last four but could benefit for the switch back to the smaller obstacles with Brian Hughes taking over in the saddle so has to be considered a danger, while Moorlands Mist is a previous course and distance winner and has won two of his last six but also comes with risks attached as he failed to complete in the other four.

Final mentions go to both Aquarian and Witness who both have the potential to get involved if arriving on a good day.
