14:00 Leopardstown We kick today’s action off with the second contest over the Irish Sea at Leopardstown. Canelie is probably due a victory after two second place finishes in her last three starts. With Gordon Elliot as her trainer, JP McManus her owner and Barry Geraghty booked to ride her she has to be respected. I am hoping I have unearthed an outsider worthy of note. Dandrige has tackled a hurdles race just once in his last fourteen outings and although his recent form doesn’t read well a return to hurdling makes him worthy of respect. Taking into consideration the weight allowance afforded by the promising amateur jockey scheduled to ride he now resides off a mark lower than his last winning hurdles mark. Although the race looks mightily competitive I have to side with the each way shot. Dandridge (E/W) – NAP

15:40 Sedgefield An open looking Class 5 contest that frustratingly sees a non runner bring the field down to seven runners and as such limits the placings to just two. Never the less we’re sticking with an each way punt in the form of the Brian Hughes ridden Sergeant Pink. The eleven year old is a dual purpose contender who won on the flat back in August. Despite relatively recent flat success he’s picked up chase victories in both Class 3 and Class 4 handicap chases over the past few years and a return to that form should see him go close. Ben Case’s Wish In A Well is worthy of his spot as favourite but isn’t known for racking up a sequence of wins and coming from out of the handicap may be best left alone. The one I fear the most hasn’t seen the winners enclosure in a fair while but Triptico should give this lot the run around if he’s near his best. At the age of eleven he may be seen as over the hill but for such an age he’s lightly raced and may have more than his rivals however I’m hoping the burden of top weight may be enough to just halt his chances.
