SUNDAY SELECTIONS

15:05 Newbury

Amarillo Sky has taken quite well to chasing and looked the likely winner here last time before making a mistake at the second last and ultimately falling. Perhaps rather harshly, the handicapper nudged him up three pounds for that though he would have strong claims if getting around and is respected as such.

Goa Lil took advantage of the late fall of Amarillo Sky and he could go well at decent odds if in the same mood, however, it is hard to think he has the progression to deal with a couple of these and a place is likely his best hope.

Maskada is a likable type and she lowered the colours of Zambella in a mares Listed race a couple of starts back. Third when last seen, she is hard to leave out of the equation today and she has won here before, albeit over hurdles.

Not Available flopped badly when finishing last of four at Warwick in January, quite why or what was to blame is anyone's guess though he had looked fairly progressive prior to that and his chances would be fairly solid if bouncing back.

Shakem Up'Arry almost always looks like he will appreciate further than this though every time he is upped in trip, he appears not to stay. A winner two starts back at this trip, he was sent back to that venue over an extra half mile and rather disappointed when finishing third. Still quite lightly raced, he ought to get a good pace to aim at and he looks to hold a favourites chance.

Son Of Camas has a fair bit to find but likes it here and could reach the frame but a chance will be taken on Shakem Up'Arry proving too strong for these in the latter stages and mowing them all down.

SHAKEM UP'HARRY (WIN)

16:30 Musselburgh

Monsieur Co has endured a rather barren spell since winning at Kelso back in late December of 2020 although there are causes for optimism and he has threatened the last twice. Well handicapped and down to the lowest grade he has ever competed in over obstacles, it would be very disappointing if he failed to go close here and his mark is now seventeen pounds below that which he was last successful off.

Claret Dabbler has gone well on quite a few of his starts and he finally looked like shedding his maiden tag last time before being nailed late in the day at Catterick. Now up to eleven rules starts without a win, there can be no doubting that he is rather frustrating and this trip poses something of a question, that being said, this is a pretty desperate affair and he would want respecting if getting the trip.

Clear The Runway looked a non-stayer over two and half miles at Plumpton and was dropped back down to the minimum trip when third at Fakenham, where he appeared one paced. Perhaps his relative inexperience is more to blame than the 'Tripless' theory and this soft ground could be right up his street, all that being said he has never won a race of any description and must improve to land this.

The rest have shown very little and are hard to recommend although the betting market could well speak volumes, failing that, Monsieur Co looks set to go well and really ought to be taking advantage of his plummeting mark against the likes of these.
