SUNDAY RACING TIPS

15:20 Southwell

Chase The Dollar has become frustrating and was beaten at short odds last time, when failing to get a clear passage at Wolverhampton. Likely to be sent off towards the head of the market today, one would require a fair amount of bravery to follow him in but he has quite clearly threatened the last twice and he would be very dangerous if changing tactics and going from the front.

Flying Instructor showed promise on his first couple of starts and showed a pleasing attitude when building upon that and scoring here last time. Clearly the least exposed, there is every chance he will go well once more though this represents a significantly harder test and his opening handicap mark barely looks a gift.

The Dancing Poet is fairly consistent and he ran well at Newcastle when last seen, he is four pounds above his last winning mark though and this trip isn't entirely certain to suit. Deluxe Magic hails from a shrewd yard and would make some appeal if the betting spoke in her favour but Chase The Dollar is handed one last chance to finally get his head back in front.

CHASE THE DOLLAR (WIN)

16:30 Exeter

Jerrysback has failed to record a single victory since causing a massive upset, when winning at 50/1 at Bangor back in December. Often there or thereabouts, one wouldn't want to take short odds about him here though this represents a significant drop in class and his mark is becoming very attractive.

Elegant Escape looks something of an imposter compared to the horse who won the 2018 Welsh National, evidently he has had his share of issues along the way although he had shown very little before finishing a decent third behind Yala Enki last time. Clearly very well handicapped (8lbs below his last winning mark) this probably looks as winnable a race as he has competed in for quite some time and the Tizzard yard have been amongst the winners.

Belami Des Pictons is thoroughly untrustworthy and Aso is another who looks a shadow of his former self, both represent Venetia Williams however and respect must be afforded despite the reservations.

Encounter A Giant must overcome a mammoth absence but would be interesting if the market came for him whilst Run To Milan is at least fairly consistent. The rest are hard to dismiss out of hand but a chance will be taken on Jerrysback finally getting his head back in front in these calmer waters.
