STAR TO SHINE FOR ELSWORTH

14.55 Newbury

Two improving three year olds are currently at the head of the market.

Sunset Bay has won his last two but has gone up a stone as a result and Aratus is currently in the territory of being a potential group horse in the making. An official rating of 94 on his first venture into handicaps is lofty enough and as such this will be a test for him.

Ajyaall is interesting. A four year old who has a touch of class. He has run respectably in his latest two starts despite running a bit free. This drop back to seven furlongs will suit and with the talented Tom Marquand on board is the danger to my selection.

Starshiba is the likely value here. Despite only winning one of his eleven starts, he is a really consistent type, running in competitive handicaps for the most part. With a fair handicap mark he has a lot in his favour and is taken to win this contest at a decent price.
