SNOW UNLIKELY TO FALL

15:35 York

Seven head to post for the Yorkshire Oaks over the Knavesmire. The going is currently Good and the race is over a mile and a half.

Snowfall is the 2/5 favourite at the time of writing and rightfully so! She has had a phenomenal three year old campaign, having won on all three outings this season. She was an extremely comfortable winner of the Irish Oaks, winning by 9 lengths, with Divinely back in second that day. It's hard to see her not romping up the Knavesmire again, following her the Musidora on this course back in May earlier this year. Ryan Moore in on board to do the steering, but it can't be ignored that the O'Brien stable are not in the best of form at the moment. Could this affect her on the day? We'll have to wait and see.

Wonderful Tonight is the second favourite and must be a fantastic horse to own. Her partnership with William Buick is just magical and they are three from three when running together in her career. But let's address the elephant in the room. The ground does not suit her today. She needs a bit of give and it would be bitterly disappointing to see her withdrawn due to there not being some description of 'soft' in the going. I think the Arc in October is the main target this season and I think if the ground is good and looks closer to firm, David Menuisier may pull her out to keep her well for the race in Paris later on this season.

With that being said, it's a mightily obvious selection, but Snowfall just wins for me, and well at that. Even with the poor O'Brien form of late, this filly is sensational and I can't wait to see her in action again.
