Wolverhampton 17:45
Away from today’s live racing we head to Wolverhampton for today’s paddocks patent.
Our first point of call is the first race of the meeting. A two year old maiden ran over an extended five furlongs set to run at 17:45.
The Olly Stevens trained Lamps of Heaven is the pick here, beaten a length and three quarters in third on debut. That was a weak race and this event looks also to have only a few with serious claims. He has Secret Glance to beat here and although the Ed McMahon trained colt brings arguably the best form of these his failure to get his head in front is off-putting.
Lamps Of Heaven should appreciate the switch to a track where she can get into a rhythm and if ridden closer to the pace should be able to get her head in front.
Soft Love should run well returned here. Although it is possible a longer trip will see her in a better light.

19:15 Wolverhampton
Our second selection contests the 19:15; a class 6 Handicap ran over a few yards short of six furlongs.
Plenty of these look to be in with a shout here and at the head of the betting is Seven Lucky Seven. Second last time at Kempton, the drop in trip looks likely to be in his favour as when placing twice here in November, He will need things to drop right to win, but finishing in the money looks highly likely here. His price looks on the short side and for that reason the selection will be found elsewhere.
Bonjour Steve, Still a maiden after 21 starts is the tentative each way pick here. He has ran well on Several occasions, including at this track, and off what is a very winnable mark further reduced by the jockeys claim he looks to have a good opportunity to gain that elusive first victory. The drop back in trip will suit this keen going sort, and if allowed to slip the field could be hard to pass.
Spowarticus looks to be the main danger. The Scott Dixon trained gelding made all over course and distance on his penultimate start before trying to repeat those tactics on Kempton’s polytrack last time. The return to this surface looks in his favour and the form of his last start was given a boost here yesterday. His mark doesn’t look insurmountable, and if given an easy lead will be hard to reel in.

21:15 Wolverhampton
Our final selection of the evening runs in the last race on the card, the 21:15. A maiden ran over an extended seven furlongs.
Sir Billy Wright is the clear pick of these. Running well on both visits here so far and his connections have found an easy contest in which he can gain his first win. He has looked to have issues coming out of the stalls on his first two starts but looked better last time, and with the extra distance likely to suit he should get the run of the race before putting it to bed early in the home straight. David Evans’ charge will likely be very short odds, but with nothing in this field to fear he should win this comfortably.
Disco Dale could improve for the switch to Tapeta and looks most likely to chase the selection home.
