The first race of the day on ITV is this ultra competitive novice handicap hurdle.

A race laden with in form, progressive horses, the majority of which are likely to be nice chasers in time.

Karl Philippe was impressive at Exeter last time for the consistent yard of Fergal O’Brien and shouldn’t be far away once more.

The Henderson team have two runners here and Nico de Boinville looks to be on the first string, but Captain Morgs cannot be ruled out after being unsuited by Fakenham last time.

A chance is taken on Sam Barton who looked an improved performer last time and with a stamina packed pedigree, this stiff test should suit.
