15 currently head to post for the Ladbrokes Champion Stayers Hurdle and we're in for a treat!
The runaway Cheltenham Stayers Hurdle winner Flooring Porter heads the market, the ability shown by this 6 year old already is phenomenal. He loves being out in front, setting a frenetic pace and he's very successful when he's able to do so. In 5 races this season, he's recorded 3 wins, 1 second and 1 third. 2 of the 3 wins have also come in Grade 1 company. If he's able to dictate the pace, it's hard to bet against him. However, there are a couple of others here that like to also lead, the likes of French Dynamite, Heaven Help Us namely.
Ronald Pump, the nearly horse in Grade 1 hurdle company. He finished second behind Honeysuckle earlier this season and was second in the Stayers Hurdle at Cheltenham in 2020. I think this horse has bags of ability and I can certainly see him being in the frame.
The rest of the field are made up of top class horses with the likes of The Storyteller, Fury Road, Beacon Edge, Klassical Dream, Heaven Help Us, Saldier. It's a fantastic line up and I can't wait to see the race unfold.
My selection will be Ronald Pump (each way) at current odds of 7/1. I think there's a few horses that like to lead from the front and this could upset Flooring Porter, for that reason I'm siding with Ronald Pump.
