Lilac Road was only beaten two lengths in the Group 2 May Hill stakes over a mile at Doncaster last September and arrives here fit and in form following a convincing victory in a three-runner affair at Kempton at the beginning of April. Already proven on turf, she is rated just 3lbs inferior to both Maamora and Agincourt yet gets almost a stone in weight from both those rivals so this looks to be a great opportunity to give her trainer another victory in this race and for her to continue her progression up the ranks.
Maamora boasts an excellent strike rate over this trip and was last seen winning a Group 3 at Sandown in August so looks to be the obvious danger, although the weight difference will make things tough and she may improve for the run given the length of time away from the track, while both Amniarix and Pholas have proved better on an all-weather surface to date, but could have a say in the finish if transferring their respective AW form over to the turf.
