Baeed is unbeaten in 3 career starts and steps up in grade here after winning a listed race at Newmarket. Was extremely impressive there and looks a Group One horse in the making. Will be a very short price but deservedly so. Unproven on soft ground.
A step down in trip from 1M 2F and drop in grade after finding Group One company too hot for him may be the key for El Drama. He has a bit to find with the favourite on a line through Maximal.
Aidan O’Brien's stable haven’t dominated UK group races as much as previous years and their charge Khartoum needs to find his level. He won a handicap impressively in May but since then has been well beaten in a Group 3 and come 2nd in a listed race. May well be best on a soft surface.
Winner of the Brittania at Royal Ascot before finding the drop to 7F in the Bunbury Cup too much. Perotto will be suited by the return to 1 mile but despite their continued improvement would need a career best today.
Rhythm Master stayed on well on first try at 7F when 4th in the Group 3 Jersey Stakes. Seemed to relish the soft ground there worth a try over this distance.
Baeed looked Group One class last time and on official ratings is a minimum of 5lb ahead of the field and is almost certainly the likeliest winner here. However, you don’t need to read a preview on a site like this to be told that. So, what chance the rest? Baeed is unproven on softish ground and at a prohibitive price the value lies elsewhere. If the ground continues drying out Perotta will go well and looks overpriced. I am going to assume there will be further rain and think that Rhythm Master is worth a small Each way bet. He relished soft ground in the Jersey Stakes and may improve again for the extra furlong. He is progressive and capable of outrunning his odds.
