14:30 Musselburgh Relight My Fire recorded his first victory in over two years when winning over track and trip on penultimate run but was subsequently well beaten at Beverley a week later, while Billy Roberts is also a previous course and distance winner and is now 2lbs below last wining mark, although would need to put aside a number of below-par runs to get competitive here. Masarzain has a win and a second to his name since stepping up to a mile and with the stable in such good recent form needs to be respected, however i’m happy to chance an each-way play on Ellal who has won three from six over todays’ trip at Musselburgh, is well treated based on last years’ form and has winning form in August in three of the last four years. 16:20 Catterick Spirit Of Zebedee was no match for the winner when second last time out but there was enough to suggest that a return to the winners enclosure could be imminent and, now 2lbs below last winning mark on turf and returning to Catterick where he last won on turf, the hope is that today could be the day. State Residence finally got his nose in front last time out, staying on well to win by almost two lengths, but carries a 6lbs penalty today which will undoubtedly make things tougher so the bigger danger could be Bop It who has won in higher grades and off much higher marks in the past and also hinted at a revival in form last time out.
