RACE PREVIEWS & TIPS (WEDNESDAY)

14:00 EXETER - (BET OF THE DAY)

Any horse that Champion jockey Richard Johnson climbs aboard deserves the upmost respect and there’s no difference here at Exeter today. Although he’s yet to claim victory under rules the prolific point-to-point winner Jepeck looked good when finishing fourth in his last run. Now he enlists the services of Johnson he seems likely to bag victory.

As You Like represents one of the biggest owners around as JP McManus’ runner looks primed for a big run after a run of poor efforts and is likely to be the biggest danger to our selection.

18:15 NEWCASTLE

The early evening meeting from Newcastle is hardly the greatest standard but never the less if we can unearth a winner it all means the same to us punters and I’m hoping Rock On Bertie can prevail in the penultimate race on the card.

The addition of blinkers I hope will be enough to finally see him claim a victory after some very consistent runs in decent enough races throughout the first year of his career. Of course he isn’t going to be a future superstar but I hope he has enough to do well in this sort of sphere with a low weight to carry.

The lightly raced Salty Sugar looks a capable filly and with Luke Morris booked for the ride has an obvious chance.

At a much bigger price trainer Karl Burke is noted for his abilities to train decent two year olds and I wouldn’t be quick to overlook Fabella Bere who may do well at large odds.
