15:50 Catterick Ruth Carr has an excellent strike rate at Catterick and looks to have a great chance of enhancing this record today with Meshardal. Her seven year old has been in fine form over recent months, winning three of his last five and has only failed to make the frame in one from six over course and distance, winning three. Pea Shooter has won off higher marks in the past but is yet to fire so far this year and has only one win from twenty four at this trip while Scofflaw has been upped 4lbs despite only placing last time out so the biggest danger could be Love Oasis who was only beaten a neck at Chester last weekend and has twice won when turned out quickly after a near miss. Meshardal (WIN)
19:05 Sandown A Sure Welcome has won four from eight over todays’ trip but all four victories came on a synthetic surface in lower grades and his record on turf is less than impressive thus far. Dragon Dream is another whose all-weather form is vastly superior to her turf form, while Pass The Cristal has won two of his last three but was well beaten off his new mark last time out and both jockey and trainer are struggling for winners at the moment. The remainder of the field are even harder to fancy so i’m opting for Frankel filly Harba who has improved for each career run so far and got off the mark last time out, at the fourth time of asking, beating a subsequent winner in the process. With that victory under her belt she should be capable of further progression for a trainer who has been amongst the winners in recent weeks. Harba (WIN) – NAP
