That said his most recent win was in a 0-145 that saw a 139 rated horse in second while the horse that finished fifth (Doitforthevillage) won at Lingfield yesterday. He could still prove to be well treated especially down in grade here. He won’t mind these conditions after a win over hurdles on this sort of ground at Chepstow, so rates as the main danger. The nod gets given to Final Nudge who made a winning chase debut at Fakenham. His most recent two runs have shown his temperament but there is undoubted ability there. David Dennis has reached for the cheekpieces and they hopefully will have the necessary effect to help him settle and concentrate. A positive is this drop in trip, so with him winning over further he should have the necessary stamina to see out this trip on gruelling ground. Truckers Glory has to cope with an 11lb rise after his chase debut that saw success at Bangor. The second has since gone on to win to enhance that form and this seven year old is definitely open to further progress in this sphere. He’s a tough gelding with a likeable attitude to dig deep, something he might need to do here but the concern would have to be that since racing under rules he’s mainly ran on good ground, so it’ll be interesting if he gets the nod to run. George Baker’s charge was second to Sennockian Star in an Amateur Riders Handicap and that winner went in again at Lingfield on Saturday. This son of Camacho is off the same mark here with the assistance of Adam Kirby in the saddle so there is plenty to like about his claims. Despite being drawn in stall 12 there is enough pace to suggest that this will be ran out a decent clip and he’ll be able to scythe through the field. Persun is of interest after her first run on the all-weather at Wolverhampton 16-days ago. She wasn’t beaten far in a decent little contest and the slight drop in grade should boost her chances. A replication of that run can see her hit the frame and the big field won’t be an issue after winning a maiden against 12 opponents. At a bigger price then Andrew Balding’s Priors Brook is on the shortlist. A winner at Lingfield two starts ago and ran well in a decent race off this mark at that venue last time. Liam Keniry knows how to get the best out of him and is likely to be prominent from his middle draw. ALCATRAZ (WIN)
