RACE PREVIEWS & TIPS (WEDNESDAY)

16:15 Wolverhampton Red Tea returns to the track following a 145-day break and she thrived last season winning three times with two of them coming at Newmarket. Her last start came at Lingfield when unlucky in running and was a staying on third. She is still unexposed on synthetic surfaces and Adam Kirby is an eye catching jockey booking by Peter Hiatt and the pair are one from three when teaming up (33%). Michael Appleby has Mr Red Clubs declared for this and a contest at Chelmsford tomorrow. He was a comfortable winner in selling company over course and distance last time but he has something to prove back in a handicap plus he’s never won off a mark as high as this. Shah Of Armaan should be better suited by the return to tapeta as the fibresand clearly didn’t suit last time out. You can put a line through that effort but he shaped well on handicap debut at Newcastle in February. The four year old won his maiden over track and trip, so could have more to offer on this surface. Red Tea (WIN)

16:35 Carlisle An interesting bumper concludes the card at Carlisle where newcomer Luckime takes the eye. The grey was purchased for 52,000 euros and will run in Trevor Hemmings silks. This five year old is brother to bumper winner Oscar Blue and also related to Cresswell Native, who won her bumper. Venetia Williams has a 28% strike rate when sending runners to this course too. Nocturnal Myth is another interesting newcomer for Anthony Honeyball, who is five from ten in bumpers this season. The tongue-tie is on for his debut with Rachael Green in the saddle. Destined To Shine is penalised for his success at Towcester last time where he showed improved form and did it in good style. The track is a similar configuration to Towcester, so should suit and is respected despite carrying the extra weight. Nigel Hawke is a trainer to watch. His Ouro Bracno won a weak three-runner contest here at Carlisle 27-days ago but that race can be taken with a pinch of salt. This is a deeper heat but he could put his racecourse experience to good use against some of these debutants. Luckime (E/W if 9/2+)
