15:30 Catterick Joey’s Destiny drops into this claiming grade for the first time in an attempt to get his head back in front for the first time since June 2014. He was as highly rated as 96 but has now slipped to a mark of 86 for this contest. There doesn’t look to be too much pace on offer here, so that is likely to suit because a test over seven furlongs wouldn’t look to be his bag. Secret Glance bypassed Redcar on Monday to run in this race. It’s his first start for Philip Kirby after switching from Richard Rowe. Despite carrying top weight this five year old ticks plenty of boxes and comes here in good heart after two good efforts at Southwell. He last won off a 3lb lower mark in June but conditions over this trip will suit and in this sort of race he should show himself in a good light. Iain Jardine’s Fingal’s Cave can’t be discounted on the back of his convincing win at Newcastle last month under today’s pilot. He was third over course and distance in October off a 1lb higher mark, so he looks to be the danger. At this sort of level then Llewellyn holds place claims. SECRET GLANCE (WIN)

15:50 Nottingham A number of the key contenders here return from their winter breaks and it may come down to who has been prepared the best. Last season Charlie Appleby’s tended to need a run and that makes G K Chesterton less appealing at the top end of the market. However he remains unexposed and has claims. Ice Slice was a revelation for James Eustace last year winning four times, including once over track and trip but he generally requires a run to get him fully tuned up. The progressive Weekend Offender gets the nod after his campaign last season. Kevin Ryan’s four year old won three of his starts last season on ground good and quicker, so these conditions suit. His final effort was arguably his best to date when staying on strongly to win a valuable York handicap and if strengthening up over winter then he can will be even better this year. Richard Hannon’s string have been in fairly good shape and with Ryan Moore booked George William is on the shortlist.
