There may only be five entrants but with three course winners and recent victors in the mix it makes it a very competitive contest.

Arzaak, Jack Taylor and Tawaafoq all claimed success in their most recent outings and aim to build on these victories by making it two wins in a row. Of the trio I’d say that Tawaafoq holds the best chance with just a three pound rise for winning here at Brighton but doesn’t make it as our selection today.

Trainer Eve Johnson Houghton took a tonne of the headlines at Royal Ascot last week when bagging her first Group 1 winner. She trains course and distance winning four year old Super Julius who holds a great record here at Brighton. With one victory and a second placed finish in just two starts he clearly relishes this unique course. A drop in weight and return to Class 4 should also help Super Julius return to the winners enclosure.
