RACE PREVIEWS & TIPS (TUESDAY)

16:00 Hexham Hattons Hill was a course and distance winner earlier this month, seemingly relishing the extra distance and the testing conditions, staying on strongly to beat a last time out winner and a few rivals rated in the 90’s. He keeps the cheekpieces on again today and is only 4lbs higher so could take all the beating with question marks surrounding the majority of his opponents. Cleve Cottage also brings winning form into the race having won at Southwell in February however has been hit with a 7lbs rise, is yet to win in seven attempts over a three mile trip and has only won on good-to-soft ground so the biggest danger looks to be Gibbstown who is a previous course and distance winner who has an excellent record at Hexham and was only just denied off the same mark when last seen earlier this month. Hattons Hill (WIN)

16:20 Wolverhampton Pearl Noir has been posting some consistent efforts in defeat over recent months, placing in 50% of all runs since the turn of the year. He will no doubt give a decent account of himself again but was a well beaten sixth when last seen over course and distance and is now 1lbs higher so would need to show some improvement to grab the victory. Dandilion is the early favourite and has made the frame in three from four at Wolves but could only manage seventh last time out and racing off the same mark again today could prove vulnerable. Cruise Tothelimit was only a beaten a short head by Dandilion when they last met over course and distance and is effectively 8lbs better off for today’s race, if taking in to consideration jockey claims. He is yet to win on an all-weather surface but has winning form over the minimum trip so based on his penultimate run against the favourite and with the swing in the weights he looks a much better proposition at early way odds. Cruise Tothelimit (E/W if 9/2+) – NAP
