RACE PREVIEWS & TIPS (TUESDAY)

16:30 Ripon Alexander M was a six length winner at Chester over the weekend and escapes a penalty as that was an apprentice race. Trainer Mark Johnston has been in good form in recent weeks and his runners tend to do well at the course so the three year old isn’t passed over lightly, however despite winning three of his last six he is yet to follow up on a victory and has already had four races in the last four weeks so i’m following course specialist Sands Chorus. The James Given trained five year old is unbeaten in three over course and distance and has been racing over a mile since his last victory so should appreciate the step back up to ten furlongs. Sands Chorus (WIN) – NAP

17:30 Ripon Continuing the theme of our earlier race, i’m opting for another course specialist in La Fritillaire who is unbeaten in two over course and distance and although is 4lbs higher than her last victory she drops down a class for todays’ race and comes up against a field which looks to be more quantity than quality. The biggest danger looks to be Fitzwilly who, although hasn’t won in almost two years, is now 6lbs below his last winning mark and has placed in four of his last five. He will likely be in the mix again although in truth is yet to really trouble the winner in any of these recent runs. Theglasgowwarrior and Jan Smuts are others who could make the frame. La Fritillaire (WIN)
