RACE PREVIEWS & TIPS (THURSDAY)

15:10 Chelmsford Pure Shores is likely to improve on her debut fourth at this track last November. She was only beaten a little over three lengths and the form of the race is working out with two horses from it having won subsequently. This step up in trip will suit the daughter of Dubawi and with her yard in fine form she is likely to take all of the beating. Will Buick replaces Martin Lane in the saddle and the duo are likely to prove a formidable combination here. Fiendish has improved with each start so far this season and also takes a step up in trip here. Her last run came only a week ago but if she is fit enough she is likely to prove the main threat. Stablemate Curlew River hasn’t been seen since finishing down the field at Newmarket back in October. This is her first run on an artificial surface and she will likely strip fitter for the run. PURE SHORES (WIN)

16:40 Chelmsford Loumarin has proven tough to win with but the five year old mare has been remarkably consistent in all of her starts so far this season. She has been beaten no more than two lengths in each of her last four runs and now that she switches from Wolverhampton to this track with a jockey who rides it ever so well, she has to be of obvious interest this afternoon. All of her three career wins have come at this trip and she ought to be there or thereabouts yet again. Quality Art returned from a two month break to record a fifth career success at Wolverhampton last time out. Rob Hornby is back in the saddle and with a handicap mark still well below what it has been in the past he is likely to prove a major player here. Autumn Tonic won last time out but has never won at this minimum trip. Mighty Zip loves it around Chelmsford and is another worth considering. LOUMARIN (E/W if 9/2+)
