14:40 Newmarket Sufi was once touted as a potential top-class performer last year however six races in to his career and he’s still yet to shake off his maiden tag. If he delivers on his previous promise then he may be able to grab place money but the likelihood of a victory seems slim to none. Another maiden is the four year old The New Master who, with the booking of Silvestre De Sousa, looks to have a better chance than the aforementioned Sufi. A disappointing return to action last time out he’s likely to improve on that effort and strip fitter for todays run, definitely a lively outsider. Chocolate Box is the one that gets the vote with Ryan Moore scheduled to take the driving seat. Moore has a fantastic record for trainer Luca Cumani with a staggering 31% strike rate. It’d be ignorant to ignore the chances of bottom weight Theglasgowwarrior but Chocolate Box should go one better than his second placed effort previously. CHOCOLATE BOX (WIN) – NAP
15:05 Newcastle I know Polar Forest probably isn’t the force he once was but at the age of seven he’s far from “past it”! Richard Guest’s charge has a course and distance success to his name and now resides of his last winning mark. Stall ten is far from ideal but over this sort of trip it wont be too much of an inconvenience and at a big price is taken to go well. In such an open race there’s no surprise to see a trio of runners looking to battle it out for favouritism. Therthaar, Auspicion and Henpecked all have claims as to why they should go close and of the three Auspicion would be my preferred choice however I just can’t side with favourites in a race of this nature, hence why the big priced, each way alternative is what I’m sticking with. Of the rest Hernandoshideaway is very interesting having some very decent form back in his youth and the maiden runner Bishop Of Bling could also be worth noting at decent odds. POLAR FOREST (E/W)
