14:00 Southwell Trainer Mick Appleby has bagged a handful of winners in recent weeks and I reckon he can add another to his tally today. He sends Interlink down to Southwell to a course has ran well at previously. The booking of Luke Morris looks a huge positive and he’s not burdened by a huge weight. Some poor efforts on the turf can be forgiven but he’ll be there or thereabouts near thr finish line. Top weight Treaty Of Rome loves it here at Southwell and Tricky Dicky aims to maintain his 100% record at the course. Both represent lively dangers but I hope they’ll be playing second fiddle to our selection. INTERLINK (WIN) – NAP

16:40 Cartmel The unique track at Cartmel poses a test for any horse and today is no different. Any runner with previous course form deserves huge respect so former course and distance winners Forever My Friend and Alderbrook Lad are likely to go very close. I’m hoping that the aforementioned duo are getting on a little and may be beaten by younger legs today. Orbasa represents the top yard of Paul Nichols and despite the six year old proving to be very frustrating for punters he’s contested much better races than this and it should be well within his capabilities if he decides to put his best effort in.
