RACE PREVIEWS & TIPS (MONDAY)

14:30 Wolverhampton The first of two selections sees an each-way NAP we feel is definitely worth following as Our Boy John runs in the second race on the card. Richard Fahey’s runner is still a maiden after twelve starts and finished last of eleven last time out but a drop in trip could really benefit his chances. A third at Newcastle is by far his best effort so clearly acts well on the all-weather and if he gets a decent break will have a good chance of place money at least. Although Auric Goldfinger is the favourite it’s not one of the horses I fear the most. Bottom weight Beepeecee put in a very good effort to finish second last time out and looks set to go close again without much of a burden. Of the rest both Everkyllachy and Poppy May have enough to take the minor places. OUR BOY JOHN (E/W) – NAP

16:10 Newcastle Some times you will analyse a race and you find yourself scratching your head as to how the bookmakers have managed to price the race the way they have. As far as I’m concerned this is true in regards to this contest. A horse with course and distance success, who returns back down to a preferred trip and has a red hot inform jockey on board shouldn’t be the rank outsider of nine. As such old timer Pamak D’airy is definitely worth a shout in a pretty weak contest. Brian Hughes has ridden an abundance of winners and isn’t likely to stick around for the last if he didn’t have a decent enough chance. Uno Valoroso can’t be ignored and is likely to improve for his recent return to the racecourse. Supreme Asset has been ultra consistent but just never wants to get his head in front. Halcyon Days has to have a great chance of making it a hat-trick with just a six pound rise in the weights and is the worthy favourite that will take plenty of beating. PAMAK D’AIRY (E/W)
